Miss Kristen is from Pickering, Ontario, where she trained and competed in her early years as a student with Jacqueline’s School of Dance. In her teens she later trained with the Muskoka Dance Academy in Huntsville. Kristen has trained at an advanced level in all disciplines of dance but has developed over the years a particular passion for Pre- School Dance. Kristen spent one year and a half in the Contemporary Ballet Dance Program at the University of Calgary and more recently graduated from Toronto’s George Brown Commercial Dance  Program. Miss Kristen still is very active in the Toronto dance scene where she is a member of the “The Dance Company” and continues to dance professionally performing on stage; Luminato Festival, Canadian Dance Tour, Niagara Falls Casino New Year’s Bash, and in film; Degrassi 2012 Season Finale. More recently, she joined the cast of the “Decades Show” at Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville.

Kristen’s passion for teaching has led her to teach at the Muskoka Dance Academy in Huntsville where she now holds the positions of MDA Competition Director and Satellite Studio Director. She currently teaches dance students in Sundridge and Huntsville. Miss Kristen continues to keep herself educated in all aspects of dance and trains at the Toronto School of Circus Arts in Aerial Silks Acrobatics and Hoop.  Kristen is certified to teach dance through Dance Masters of America Inc, DMC Chapter #38, and holds teaching certificates in Acro, Jazz and the Paula Morgan Technique, Level One.

Kristen works with many of the dance students at the Muskoka Dance Academy and we are excited be implementing her knowledge, teaching techniques and dance styles into our growing programs. Kristen has recently introduced a successful new Aerial Silks Program.

Miss Kristen has wonderful energy and enthusiasm and is a natural fit to our dynamic MDA dance family.
