Biography

LYNN HILL Miss Lynn is a certified member and teacher of the Dance masters of America Association (DMA), Chapter #38. Lynn currently sits on the Board of Directors for DMA, as the Director of New Membership and Tap Examiner for Tap Certification.

Lynn started her training in Hamilton and Toronto where she studied all aspects and styles of dance. In her early teens, Lynn performed in a variety of stage shows including working for two summers in “Hocus Pocus” (A Mark Wilson Production from LA.) in Niagara Falls, Ontario where Lynn performed as the Magicians Assistant and Dancer.

Miss Lynn’s experiences eventually moved her to Huntsville in 1983. As a Choreographer,CoProducer, Writer, Lead Singer and Dancer for 21 years, Lynn Hill was one of the most recognized performers throughout the 80’s and 90’s in the world renowned spectacular Stage Show at Deerhurst Resort. Deerhurst gave Miss Lynn the opportunity to travel with the show throughout Canada performing for many corporate conventions such a s Grey cup, Toyota and McDonalds to name a few. Lynn had the pleasure to work alongside Shania Twain as her understudy and was instrumental in teaching Twain her choreography.

Miss Lynn has been instructing at the Muskoka Dance Academy for the past 27 years. As an extremely well rounded educator of Dance, Lynn brings years of professional experience and education to the Muskoka Dance Academy’s winning team. Lynn’s students have won numerous awards for their unique theatrics and versatility. Her choreography has contributed to the Muskoka Dance Academy’s reputation. Recognition for “Age Appropriate Choreography and Costuming” and providing a “Class Act Studio” for professional teaching are two of the awards the Muskoka Dance Academy has received at competitions in both Canada and the United States. “Miss Lynn” was most recently voted Muskoka’s Most Popular Dance Teacher” for 2012.

Lynn is very active in the Huntsville Community as a teacher and choreographer for many local theatre groups and school productions. Lynn currently runs the “Gotta Dance” Program at Deerhurst Resort and teaches the Winter Elective Dance Program for local Public Schools. Most recently, Lynn has been working in conjunction with the Huntsville High School staging young aspiring singers in the very successful “Song Project”.

Lynn continues to promote the fun of learning in her students. She presently teaches a variety of age groups in Pre-School Dance, Jazz, Acro, Hip Hop, Technique, Musicals Theatre, Tap and Ballroom for over 20 hours per week.
